Angela Arnold Sowers, PhD, is a biologist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, Planning Division, Civil Project Development where she plans ecosystem restoration, flood damage reduction, and navigation projects. She works on various projects within the Chesapeake Bay watershed including island restoration, oyster restoration, and watershed planning. Prior to joining USACE, she earned a PhD in paleoecology at The Johns Hopkins University in the Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering.
